BRIAN HOOKS MEMORIAL PAYS $1,357-TO-WIN FOR SPORTSMAN AT MOUNTAIN VIEW


SPRING CITY, TN – It’s going to be an event with plenty of action Saturday night at Mountain View Raceway with the $1,357-to-win 4th Annual Brian Hooks Memorial Race for the Sportsman Division, along with the Pretty In Pink Powder Puff Race to celebrate the beginning of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, plus Regular Weekly Point Races for six other Divisions.


In addition to the winner’s share of 4th Brian Hooks Memorial Race, the race pays Bonus Money with a $357 Bonus if the winner comes from the fifth starting spot on back, $357 for Fast Time, $357 for the Hard Charger of the Race, and $357-to-win a B-Main Race. The B-Main races will pay at least $57 to take the green flag.


The Pretty In Pink Powder Puff Race will be the second of the season on the Mountain View Raceway Schedule of Events, and there will be a Powder Puff Race for V-8 powered race cars, and a Powder Puff Race for the four-cylinder powered cars. Ladies that are non-racing drivers are eligible for the Pretty In Pink Powder Puff Races.


The Mountain View Raceway Late Model, Beginner Sportsman, Open-Wheel Modified, B-Hobby, Thunder and Front-Wheel-Drive Divisions will be competing in Regular Weekly Point Races. The Junior Front-Wheel-Drive Division will also be in action for kids 15 years of age and younger.


Barry Goodman of Spring City, TN is looking for his third straight Mountain View Raceway Late Model Championship. Goodman leads the standings with 800 points in the Charlie’s Used Auto Parts CVR. Joe Bray of New Tazewell, TN is the Sportsman Division point leader with 784 points driving the Bray Roofing Rocket.


David Peak of Evensville, TN in the BS Welding Rayburn leads the Beginner Sportsman standings with 962 points and Billy Palmer of Knoxville, TN is the Open-Wheel Modified point leader with 854 points in the Mighty Muffler and Brakes Tinch. Johnny Hughes of Graysville, TN is the B-Hobby point leader in the Hughes Farms Monte Carlo with 946 points.


Clayton Forsyth of Crossville, TN leads the Thunder Division standings with 942 points driving the Forsyth Motorsports Chevelle. The Front-Wheel-Drive point leader is Nick Adams of Crossville, TN in the Adams Racing Special with 882 points.


On Saturday, the Pit Gate opens at 3 p.m. and the Grandstand/Tier Parking Gates open at 4 p.m. Pre-Race Registration and Technical Inspection will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Drivers Registering after 6 p.m. will start at the rear of a Heat Race or get one lap of Qualifying. The Drivers Meeting is set for 6:15 p.m.


Pit Passes are $25 for Adults, $15 for Children 6-11, and Children 5 and under are admitted Free. The General Admission and Tier Parking ticket prices are $10 for race fans 12 and older, Children 6-11 are $5. and Children 5 and under are admitted Free. All Children must be accompanied by an Adult.
