COLLINS CAPTURES LATE MODEL WIN AT MOUNTAIN VIEW RACEWAY


SPRING CITY, TN – Josh Collins of Knoxville, TN was the winner of the 25-lap Late Model Feature Race on Saturday during Champions Night at Mountain View Raceway driving the Knoxville Diesel Rocket. Collins took the lead Barry Goodman of Spring City, TN on lap ten and then held off a late-race charge from Mike Weeks of Friendsville, TN to take the victory.


Weeks finished second in the Weeks Racing Special and Goodman drove the Charlie’s Used Auto Parts CVR to a third-place showing to secure his third straight Mountain View Raceway Late Model Championship.


Ruben Mayfield of Lenoir City, TN was fourth driving the RM Trucking Stinger and Darren Goins of Oliver Springs, TN rounded out the top five in the Goins Racing Special. In preliminary action, Goodman was the Fast Qualifier with a lap around the ¼-mile high-banked clay oval in 11.057 seconds.


Hayden Ownbey of Cleveland, TN won the 20-lap Sportsman Feature Race in the Ownbey Racing Special and Zach Shannon of Wartburg, TN took the second spot in the Shannon & Sons Trucking Longhorn. Joe Bray of New Tazewell, TN finished third in the Bray Roofing Rocket and was crowned the 2021 Mountain View Racing Sportsman Champion.


Will Hicks of Cleveland, TN drove the Hicks Specialty Welding Special to his first win in the 20-lap Beginner Sportsman Main Event followed by Eric Rossington of Gainesboro, TN in the Ben Wells Masonry GRT and Adam Bishop of Riceville, TN in the Williams Concrete and Construction Warrior. David Peak of Evensville, TN is the 2021 Mountain View Raceway Beginner Sportsman Champion in the BS Welding Rayburn.


Wayne James of Cosby, TN was the winner in the 15-lap Open-Wheel Modified Feature Race driving the Steve’s Heat and Air Lightning. Walter Walsh of Claxton, TN drove the Walsh Racing Special to a second-place finish and Justin Parker of Pikeville, TN was third in the Bee Creek Farms and Trucking Special. Billy Palmer of Knoxville, TN is the 2021 Mountain View Raceway Open-Wheel Modified Champion driving the Mighty Muffler and Brakes Tinch.


Lamar Hughes of Soddy Daisy, TN won the 20-lap B-Hobby Main Event in the Hughes Farms Monte Carlo, and Dylan Johnson of Dunlap, TN won the 15-lap B-Hobby Make-Up Feature from October 2 driving the Johnson Farms Camaro. Johnny Hughes of Graysville, TN is the 2021 Mountain View Raceway B-Hobby Champion.


Bobby Davenport of Crossville, TN drove the Davenport Racing Special to the win in the 20-lap Thunder Main Event. Clayton Forsyth of Crossville, TN finished second in the Forsyth Motorsports Chevelle and won the 2021 Mountain View Raceway Thunder Championship. Cody Satterfield of Knoxville, TN took the third spot in the Satterfield Racing Monte Carlo.


Nathan Adams of Crossville, TN took the 15-lap Front-Wheel-Drive A-Feature driving the Adams Racing Special and Josh Scealf of Decatur, TN was second in the J&S Towing Honda. Nick Adams of Crossville, TN finished third in the Adams Racing Special to win the 2021 Mountain View Raceway Front-Wheel-Drive Championship.


Craig Hoffman of Dayton, TN won the 15-lap Front-Wheel-Drive B-Feature in the Hoffman Racing Pontiac. Michael Ownby of Oak Ridge, TN was second in the Ownby Racing Special and Nate Ingham of Athens, TN finished third in the Ingham Racing Honda.


Jack Gresham of Decatur, TN won the 15-lap Front-Wheel Drive B-Feature Make-Up Race from October 2 in the Gresham Racing Chevrolet followed by Gene Clayton of Dayton, TN driving the Clayton Racing Honda, and Henry Cligan of Dayton, TN was third in the Cligan Racing Special.


Chevy Adams of Crossville, TN drove the Adams Racing Special to victory in the ten-lap Junior Front-Wheel-Drive Feature Race. Rebeacca Gresham of Decatur, TN finished second in the Gresham Racing Special and Frankie Sharp of Crossville, TN was third in the Sharp Race Car Special.


Jessica Bishop of Riceville, TN won the ten-lap Pretty In Pink V-8 Powder Puff Race in the Williams Concrete and Construction Warrior. Felicia Goodman of Spring City, TN took the second spot driving the Charlie’s Used Auto Parts CVR and Crystal Harper, Decatur, TN in the Harper Racing Special was third.


The Four-Cylinder Pretty In Pink ten-lap Powder Puff Race was won by Charlotte Jones of Decatur, TN in the Jones Racing Special. Tiffany Sharp of Crossville, TN finished second in the Sharp Race Cars Special and Ashley Waller of Dayton, TN took the third spot in the Waller Racing Special.


The next race at Mountain View Raceway will be on Saturday, October 30 with the 2nd Annual Trunk or Treat Race. The Late Model, Sportsman, Beginner Sportsman, Open-Wheel Modified, B-Hobby, Thunder and Front-Wheel-Drive Divisions will be in action along with an Enduro Race and a Demolition Derby.


It will be a daytime race with gates opening at 10 a.m., with a 12 Noon Drivers Meeting, and racing scheduled for 12:30 p.m. After the racing action, there will be candy handed out to all of the kids for Halloween.


Pit Passes will be $25 for Adults, $15 for Children 6-11, and Children 5 and under will be admitted Free. The General Admission and Tier Parking ticket prices will be $10 for race fans 12 and older, Children 6-11 will be $5. and Children 5 and under will be admitted Free. All Children must be accompanied by an Adult.
