FRONT-WHEEL-DRIVES HIGHLIGHTED THIS SATURDAY NIGHT AT MOUNTAIN VIEW RACEWAY


SPRING CITY, TN – The Mountain View Raceway Front-Wheel-Drive Division has been a crowd pleaser during the early weeks of the 2021 racing season, and they will be highlighted this Saturday night with a $500-to-win 25-lap main event. The Front-Wheel-Drive Division is the closest Division at Mountain View Raceway that resemble what is driven on the street.


In addition to the Front-Wheel-Drive, the Mountain View Raceway Late Models, Sportsman, Beginner Sportsman, Open-Wheel Modified, B-Hobby/Thunder, and Dwarf Divisions will be in action this Saturday night on the ¼-mile high-banked clay oval.


Mountain View Raceway will begin a new Kids Program this Saturday night, and there will be special programs for the younger race fans that include Candy Tosses, Coin Tosses, Bicycle Races, and many other programs. This Saturday night, the first 100 kids 12 and under through the General Admission Gate will receive a free popsicle from the Mountain View Raceway Concession Stand.


Nick Adams of Crossville, TN will lead the Front-Wheel-Drive contingent into Saturday night’s Big Show at Mountain View Raceway. Adams drives the Chevrolet HHR known as the Grave Digger, and he is the Front-Wheel-Drive point leader coming into the race. The Adams Boys hold the top two points in the standings, as Nathan Adams is second in points just four behind.


Billy Long of Niota, TN is third in the Front-Wheel-Drive points chase, 12 points behind Nathan Adams, and Tyler Walton of Crossville, TN is fourth, ten points behind Long. Jason Crowder of Loudon, TN is fifth with Jack Gresham of Loudon, TN, Guy Ingham of Athens, TN, Jacob Sharp of Crossville, TN, William Beddingfield of Spring City, TN, Josh Scealf of Decatur, TN and Nate Ingham of Athens, TN in sixth through tenth respectively in the point standings.


The Front-Wheel-Drive Division averages well over 20 cars each Saturday night at Mountain View Raceway. It is an entry-level Division with basically cars that come right off the street with the glass and interiors removed and replaced with a full roll cage and racing safety equipment to protect the driver. The most popular brands are Chevrolets, Hondas, and Hyundais.


The defending Mountain View Raceway Late Model Champion Barry Goodman of Spring City, TN continues to lead the Late Model point standings with a 16-point lead over Christopher Peak of Evensville, TN. Josh Walker of Ringgold, GA is third, with Josh Collins of Knoxville, TN and Harley Maginness of Dayton, TN tied for the fourth spot.


Addison Cardwell of Knoxville, TN leads the Sportsman Division points chase with a 24-point lead over David Doss of Cleveland, TN. Tyler Dennis of Dayton, TN, Aaron Watson of Dayton, TN, Jeremy Hicks of Cleveland, TN and Donnie Van Winkle of Soddy Daisy, TN are third through fifth respectively.


The Beginner Sportsman Division is for drivers with one-year or less experience. Bradley Goodman of Spring City, TN is the point leader with a 20-point lead over David Peak of Evensville, TN. Jeremy Thurman of Rockwood, TN is third, with Tyler Loden of Spring City, TN in fourth, and Christian James of Soddy Daisy, TN is in the fifth spot.


Travis Sietsema of Crossville, TN leads the Open-Wheel Modified Division standing with a 12 point advantage over Billy Palmer of Knoxville, TN. Sarah Patrick of Albany, KY, David Lester of Rockwood, TN and Robby Reagan of Crossville, TN are third through fifth respectively,


Johnny Hughes of Graysville, TN, David Beeler of Sevierville, TN, Lamar Hughes of Soddy Daisy, TN, Jim Gilbert of Rossville, GA, Cody Moffett of Sweetwater, TN, and Dylan Johnson of Dunlap, TN are the top five drivers in the B-Hobby Division. The top five in the Thunder Division are Cody Satterfield of Knoxville, TN, Clayton Forsyth of Crossville, TN, Chris Williams of Soddy Daisy, TN, Scott Smith of Soddy Daisy, TN and Eric Honeycutt of Rockwood, TN. David Dunlap of Clinton, TN holds an eight-point lead over Hunter Rich of Jamestown, TN in the Dwarf Division standings. Randy Bailey of Soddy Daisy, TN and Jimmy Delaney of Cookeville, TN are tied for the third spot, and Ed Bray of Cookeville, TN is in the fifth spot.


On Saturday, the Pit Gate opens at 3 p.m., and the Grandstand/Tier Parking Gates opens at 4 p.m. Pre-Race Technical Inspection and Registration will be from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and the Drivers Meeting is set for 5:45 p.m., with Racing scheduled for 6 p.m. The schedule of events are listed below.


Pit Passes are $25 for Adults, $15 for Children 6-12, and Children 5 and under are admitted Free. General Admission and Tier Parking ticket prices are $10 for Adults, $5 for Children 6-12, and Children 5 and under are admitted Free.
