IRONMAN MODIFIEDS TO RACE FOR $1,200-TO-WIN AT MOUNTAIN VIEW RACEWAY


SPRING CITY, TN – The Brucebilt Ironman Open-Wheel Modified Series will make their first-ever appearance at Mountain View Raceway this Saturday night with a $1,200-to-win $125-to-start Feature Race. The Mountain View Raceway Late Model, Sportsman, Beginner Sportsman, B-Hobby, Thunder and Front-Wheel-Drive Divisions will also be in action with Weekly Points Races.


Blake Brown of Corbin, KY is the Ironman series points leader. Trailing Brown in the points coming into this event at Mountain View Raceway are Ricky Tinch of Deer Lodge, TN, Wayne James of Newport, TN, Amos Bunch of Wartburg, TN, and Clayton Miller of Elkton, KY. Tinch warmed up for the race with a victory last Saturday night at Mountain View Raceway.


Other Ironman Open-Wheel Modified regulars that have made multiple visits this season at Mountain View Raceway include James, Miller, and Brandon Kinzer of Allen, KY, who has a pair of wins on the ¼-mile high-banked clay oval. Local favorites expected include the Mountain View Raceway Open-Wheel Modified point leader Billy Palmer of Knoxville, TN in the Mighty Muffler and Brakes Tinch, Travis Sietsema of Crossville, TN in the Tee’s Home Improvement LG2, and Robby Reagan of Crossville, TN in the Jackson Outdoors Lightning.


The defending Mountain View Raceway Late Model Champion Barry Goodman of Spring City, TN is the point leader after his second win of the season last Saturday night in the Charlie’s Used Auto Parts CVR. Goodman has 510 points and Christopher Peak of Evensville, TN is second with 408 points in the BS Welding Mastersbilt. Josh Collins of Knoxville, TN is third with 322 points in the Knoxville Diesel Rocket.


Joe Bray of New Tazewell, TN leads the Sportsman Division point standings with 524 points in the Bray Roofing Rocket. Bradley Goodman of Spring City, TN is second in the Goody’s Power Sweeping Rocket with 484 points, and David Doss of Cleveland, TN is third with 482 points in the Levi Racing Rocket.


The Beginner Sportsman Division point leader is David Peak of Evensville, TN with 656 points in the JS Welding Rayburn, and Jeremy Thurman of Rockwood, TN is second in the Addison’s Complete Auto Repair GRT. Tyler Loden of Spring City, TN is third in the standings with 568 points driving the Lashes and Waxing by Paige GRT.


Johnny Hughes of Graysville, TN leads the B-Hobby standings in the Hughes Racing Monte Carlo with 656 points. Jim Gilbert of Rossville, GA is second with 600 points in the Rat Rod Chevelle, and David Beeler of Sevierville, TN is third driving the Kodak Tractor Camaro.


Clayton Forsyth of Crossville, TN is on top of the Thunder Division standings with 662 points in the Forsyth Motorsports Chevelle and Bobby Davenport of Crossville, TN is second with 558 points in the Davenport Racing Special. Chris Williams of Soddy Daisy, TN is third with 564 points in the Ameka Wilkey Monte Carlo.


Nathan Adams of Crossville, TN leads the Front-Wheel-Drive Division standings with 634 points in the Adams Racing Special, and his brother Nick Adams of Crossville, TN is second with 620 points driving the Grave Digger Chevrolet HHR. Jacob Sharp of Crossville, TN driving the Sharp’s Race Cars Chevrolet is third with 520 points.


This Saturday, the Pit Gate opens at 3 p.m. and the Grandstand/Tier Parking Gates open at 4 p.m. Pre-Race Registration and Technical Inspection will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Drivers Registering after 6 p.m. will start at the rear of a Heat Race or get one lap of Qualifying. The Drivers Meeting is set for 6:15 p.m.


Pit Passes are $30 for Adults, $15 for Children 6-11, and Children 5 and under are admitted Free. The General Admission and Tier Parking ticket prices are $10 for race fans 12 and older, Children 6-11 are $5. and Children 5 and under are admitted Free. All Children must be accompanied by an Adult.
