LEE LANDS A GRAND IN MOUNTAIN VIEW B-HOBBY BASH


SPRING CITY, TN – Brady Lee of Knoxville, TN drove the Lee’s Mountain Retreat Camaro to a $1,000 victory Saturday night in the B-Hobby Bash at Mountain View Raceway. Lee took the lead from his outside front row starting position and led all 20-laps of the Feature Race on the ¼-mile high-banked clay oval.


Pete Wright of Wartburg, TN finished second in the Josh Gunter Racing Monte Carlo and Jason Brown of Benton, TN took the third spot driving the Brown Racing Camaro. Lamar Hughes of Soddy Daisy, TN was fourth in the Hughes Farms Monte Carlo and fifth went to Sam Burgess of Knoxville, TN in the Burgess Racing Special.


Burgess was the Fast Qualifier with a lap in 12.777 seconds. Sixth through tenth respectively went to Jim Gilbert of Rossville, GA in the Rat Rod Chevelle, Dylan Johnson of Dunlap, TN driving the Johnson Racing Camaro, Jeff Profit of Crossville, TN Dale Brummett of Helenwood, GA and Jerry Spence of Spring City, TN.


The Late Model, Sportsman, Open-Wheel Modified, Thunder, Front-Wheel-Drive, and Junior Front-Wheel-Drive Divisions were also in action with Regular Weekly Point Races. The car-count for the evening’s event filled the Mountain View Raceway Pit Area with 139 entries.


Kyle Courtney of Knoxville, TN made a last lap pass to take the 25-lap Late Model Feature Race driving the Orr Brothers Construction Kryptonite. Addison Cardwell of Knoxville, TN finished second in the Jake Miller Excavating Longhorn and Jason Manley of Loudon, TN was third in the M&M Properties CVR. Barry Goodman of Spring City, TN has clinched his fourth straight Late Model Championship in the Charlie’s Used Auto Parts CVR.


The 2021 Champion Joe Bray of New Tazewell, TN drove the Bray Roofing Rocket to victory in the 20-lap Sportsman Main Event. Point leader Jimmy Dalton of Powell, TN won the 20-lap Open-Wheel Modified Feature Race in the Willett Powder Coating Elite. Casey Cash of Spring City, TN padded his point lead with the win in the 15-lap Thunder Main Event in the Duncan Family Automotive Camaro.


With 50 Front-Wheel- Drive cars entered Saturday night, there were two 25-car 50-lap Feature Races, Mountain View Raceway continues to be the World Capital of Front-Wheel-Drive Racing. Nathan Adams of Crossville, TN won the A Feature driving the Window Depot Chevrolet and Rick Webb of Dayton, TN drove the Webb Racing Special to the win in the B Feature.


Dylan Jones of Limestone, TN in the Jones Racing Special was the Junior Front-Wheel-Drive winner in the ten-lap main event for youngsters 15 years of age and younger. Nine-year-old Frankie Sharp of Crossville, TN has clinched the 2022 Junior Front-Wheel-Drive Championship driving the Sharp Race Cars Chevrolet.


Saturday, October 1 will be the Pretty In Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Event at Mountain View Raceway. There will be two Powder Puff Races for non-racing ladies. One will be a V-8 Powder Puff Race and the other will be a Front-Wheel-Drive Powder Puff Race.


Everyone is encouraged to wear pink to watch Regular Weekly Point Races for the Late Model, Sportsman, Open-Wheel Modifieds, Thunder, Front-Wheel-Drive, and Junior Front-Wheel-Drive Divisions. The Developmental Sportsman Division will also be in action at the Rhea County Speed Plant.


There will be new starting times beginning this Saturday, as Mountain View Raceway will begin its Fall Twilight Schedule. Beginning this Saturday, the Pit Gate opens at 12 Noon, and the Grandstand and Tier Parking Gates open at 1 p.m. Pre-Race Registration and Technical Inspection is scheduled from 12 Noon to 3 p.m. The Drivers Meeting is scheduled for 3:15 p.m.


Pit Passes are $25 for Adults, and $15 for Children 6-11. The General Admission and Tier Parking ticket prices are $10 for race fans 12 and older, and Children 6-11 are $5. Children 5 and under are admitted Free in all areas, and all Children must be accompanied by an Adult.
