REGULAR WEEKLY POINTS NIGHT THIS SATURDAY AT MOUNTAIN VIEW RACEWAY


SPRING CITY, TN – Mountain View Raceway returns to action this Saturday night with a Regular Weekly Points Race for seven different Divisions. The Late Model, Sportsman, Beginner Sportsman, Open-Wheel Modified, B-Hobby, Thunder, and Front-Wheel-Drive Divisions will compete on the ¼-mile high-banked clay oval that is becoming a fan favorite in East Tennessee.


The defending Mountain View Raceway Late Model Champion Barry Goodman of Spring City, TN leads the standings going into Saturday night with 200 points driving the Charlie’s Used Auto Parts CVR. Christopher Peak of Evensville, TN is second in the standings with 182 points in the B.S. Welding Mastersbilt.


Harley Maginness of Dayton, TN is third in the Late Model standings with 160 points in the Maginness Racing Mastersbilt, and Josh Collins of Knoxville, TN is fourth with 128 in the Knoxville Diesel Rocket. John Ownbey of Cleveland, TN rounds out the top five with 98 points driving the Orr Brothers Construction Kryptonite.


David Doss of Cleveland, TN is the Sportsman Division point leader with 290 points in the Doss Racing Rocket followed by Bradley Goodman of Spring City, TN with 236 points in the Goody’s Power Sweeping Rocket and Aaron Watson of Dayton, TN in the Watson Construction Capital with 230 points.


David Peak of Evensville, TN in the B.S. Welding Rayburn is the Beginner Sportsman Division point leader with 350 points. Jeremy Thurman of Rockwood, TN is second with 310 points driving the Addison’s Complete Auto Repair GRT and Tyler Loden of Spring City, TN in the Lashes and Waxing By Paige GRT is third with 304 points.


The Open-Wheel Modified Division standings is led by Travis Sietsema of Crossville, TN with 276 points driving the Tee’s Home Improvement LG2, followed by Billy Palmer of Knoxville, TN in the Palmer Racing Special with 254 points and David Lester of Rockwood, TN with 192 points in the Cadillac Grill Loose Griff.


Johnny Hughes of Graysville, TN leads the B-Hobby Division with 384 points after four straight wins in the Hughes Racing Monte Carlo. David Beeler of Sevierville, TN is second in the Kodak Tractor Camaro with 314 points, and third is Jim Gilbert of Rossville, GA driving the Gilbert Racing Special with 272 points.


Clayton Forsyth of Crossville, TN is the Thunder Division point leader with 360 points driving the Forsyth Motorsports Chevelle, and Bobby Davenport of Crossville, TN is second with 342 points in the Davenport Racing Special. Chris Williams of Soddy Daisy, TN in the Ameka Wilkey Monte Carlo is third with 340 points.


The Adams Brothers of Crossville, TN sit on top of the Front-Wheel- Drive Division point standings. Nick Adams leads the FWD standings with 340 points driving the Grave Digger Chevrolet HHR, and Nathan Adams is second with 334 points in the Adams Racing Special. Billy Long of Niota, TN is third driving the Long’s Painting and Recycling Chevrolet with 294 points.


Veterans that have paid the ultimate sacrifice will be honored this Saturday night at Mountain View Raceway with a special race car, signed by current active duty military and veterans, carrying the Nation’s Flag during the Opening Ceremonies. Current Active Duty Military personnel and Veterans with proper I.D. will receive Free General Admission this Saturday night.


The Mountain View Raceway Kids Zone will be open with several activities highlighted by Kid’s Bicycle Races during Intermission. There will be three age groups: 4 to 6, 7 to 10, and 11 to 13. The first 100 kids accompanied by an Adult through the Grandstand gate will receive a free popsicle. There will also be a Special General Admission Ticket price of $2 for Children 6 to 11.


Other Kid’s activities this Saturday night at Mountain View Raceway include the Dirt Late Model Simulator, Supervised Pit Area Tours, an opportunity to wave the green flag over the start of a Feature Race, and rides in the pack cars during track preparation before the races.


On Saturday at Mountain View Raceway, the Pit Gate opens at 3 p.m., and the Grandstand/Tier Parking Gates opens at 4 p.m. Pre-Race Technical Inspection and Registration will be from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and the Drivers Meeting is set for 5:45 p.m., with Racing scheduled for 6 p.m.


Pit Passes are $25 for Adults, $15 for Children 6-11, and Children 5 and under are admitted Free. The General Admission and Tier Parking ticket prices are Free for Active Duty Military Personnel and Veterans with proper I.D., $10 for race fans 12 and older, Children 6-11 are $2. and Children 5 and under are admitted Free. All Children must be accompanied by an Adult.
