SPRING CITY, TN – Mountain View Raceway will be in action this Saturday night with a Regular Weekly Show for six of its seven Divisions, plus an appearance by the Sharps Mini Late Models, and a Crew Chief’s Race at the end of the evening’s racing program. Non Drivers that work on the race cars will have an opportunity to race what they wrench on.
There will be Weekly Points Racing for the Late Model, Sportsman, Beginner Sportsman, B-Hobby, Thunder and Front-Wheel-Drive Divisions. The Open-Wheel Modified Division will be taking the evening off this Saturday night.
The defending Mountain View Raceway defending Late Model Champion Barry Goodman of Spring City, TN leads the standings in that Division with 608 points after his third win of the season last Saturday night in the Charlie’s Used Auto Parts CVR. Christopher Peak of Evensville, TN is second driving the BS Welding Mastersbilt with 470 points, and Josh Collins of Knoxville, TN is third with 372 points in the Knoxville Diesel Rocket.
Joe Bray of New Tazewell, TN leads the Sportsman standings with 604 points driving the Bray Roofing Rocket and Bradley Goodman of Spring City, TN is second with 570 points in the Goody’s Power Sweeping Rocket. Tyler Dennis of Dayton, TN in the Dennis Racing Special is third in the Sportsman standings with 546 points.
David Peak of Evensville, TN is the Beginner Sportsman point leader with 754 points after winning last Saturday night in the BS Welding Rayburn. Jeremy Thurman of Rockwood, TN holds the second spot with 678 points in the Addison’s Complete Auto Repair GRT, and Tyler Loden of Spring City, TN is third with 660 points in the Lashes and Waxing By Paige GRT.
Billy Palmer of Knoxville, TN in the Mighty Muffler and Brakes Tinch is the Open-Wheel Modified point leader with 644 points. David Lester of Rockwood, TN is second in the Cadillac Grill Loose Griff with 490 points and Travis Sietsema of Crossville, TN driving the Tee’s Home Improvement LG2 is third with 464 points.
Johnny Hughes of Graysville, TN is the B-Hobby point leader with 704 points in the Hughes Farms Monte Carlo and holds an eight-point lead over second-place Jim Gilbert of Rossville, GA in the Rat Rod Chevelle with 696 points. David Beeler of Sevierville, TN is third with 624 points driving the Kodak Tractor Camaro.
Last Saturday night’s Thunder winner Clayton Forsyth of Crossville, TN leads that Division’s standings with 760 points in the Forsyth Motorsports Chevelle. Bobby Davenport of Crossville, TN in the Davenport Racing Special is second with 678 points and Chris Williams of Soddy Daisy, TN is third with 660 points in the Anneke Wilkey Monte Carlo.
The Adams Brothers of Crossville, TN are tied for the Front-Wheel-Drive Division point lead in their Adams Racing Specials. Both Nathan Adams and Nick Adams each have 676 points at the top of the list. Jack Gresham of Decatur, TN has moved up to the third spot with 566 points driving the Gresham Racing Chevrolet.
This Saturday, the Pit Gate opens at 3 p.m. and the Grandstand/Tier Parking Gates open at 4 p.m. Pre-Race Registration and Technical Inspection will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Drivers Registering after 6 p.m. will start at the rear of a Heat Race or get one lap of Qualifying. The Drivers Meeting is set for 6:15 p.m.
Pit Passes are $25 for Adults, $15 for Children 6-11, and Children 5 and under are admitted Free. The General Admission and Tier Parking ticket prices are $10 for race fans 12 and older, Children 6-11 are $5. and Children 5 and under are admitted Free. All Children must be accompanied by an Adult.
