SPRING CITY, TN – The Super Late Models will compete at Mountain View Raceway for the first time ever this Saturday night, along with five Weekly Divisions. The Valvoline Ironman Super Late Model Series will take to the ¼-mile high-banked clay oval for a $4,000-to-win 40-lap Feature Race.
Along with the Valvoline Ironman Super Late Models, the Mountain View Raceway Beginner Sportsman, Open-Wheel Modified, B-Hobby, Thunder, and Front-Wheel-Drive Divisions will be in action, plus there will be a Crew Chief’s Race at the end of the evening.
The Mountain View Raceway Late Model and Sportsman Divisions will have the night off for points racing, but competitors in both Divisions are invited to compete with the Valvoline Ironman Super Late Model Series. The Valvoline Ironman Super Late Model Series will pay a $100 Bonus to the highest finishing car powered by an all-steel, Spec, or Crate Engine.
With a plethora of Late Model Divisions competing at dirt tracks across the country, the Super Late Models are the fastest and most expensive. Valvoline Ironman Super Late Model Series winners this season include Randy Weaver of Crossville, TN, Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville, GA, Devin Gilpin of Columbus, IN, Jimmy Owens of Newport, TN, Jensen Ford of Piney Flats, TN, Cory Hedgecock of Loudon, TN, Hudson O’Neal of Martinsville, IN, Dakotah Knuckles of Ewing, VA, Mike Marlar of Winfield, TN, and Michael Chilton of Salvisa, KY.
Jensen Ford leads the Valvoline Ironman Super Late Model Series point standings followed by Michael Chilton in second, Donald McIntosh of Dawsonville, GA holding third-place, Hudson O’Neal is fourth, and Mike Marlar rounds out the top five.
The defending Mountain View Raceway Late Model Champion Barry Goodman of Spring City, TN leads the Division point standings in the Charlie’s Used Auto Parts CVR. Joe Bray of New Tazewell, TN leads the Sportsman Division point standings in the Bray Roofing Rocket. David Peak of Evensville, TN is the Beginner Sportsman Division point leader in the BS Welding Rayburn.
Billy Palmer of Knoxville, TN driving the Mighty Muffler and Brakes Tinch is the Open-Wheel Modified Division point leader and Johnny Hughes of Graysville, TN leads the B-Hobby point standings in the Hughes Farms Monte Carlo. Clayton Forsyth of Crossville, TN is the Thunder Division point leader in the Forsyth Motorsports Chevrolet and Nick Adams of Crossville, TN driving the Adams Racing Special is the Front-Wheel-Drive Division point leader.
This Saturday, the Pit Gate opens at 3 p.m. and the Grandstand/Tier Parking Gates open at 4 p.m. Pre-Race Registration and Technical Inspection will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Drivers Registering after 6 p.m. will start at the rear of a Heat Race or get one lap of Qualifying. The Drivers Meeting is set for 6:15 p.m.
Pit Passes are $35 for Adults, $15 for Children 6-11, and Children 5 and under are admitted Free. The General Admission and Tier Parking ticket prices are $15 for race fans 12 and older, Children 6-11 are $5. and Children 5 and under are admitted Free. All Children must be accompanied by an Adult.
