SPRING CITY, TN – Tyler Collins has been named by track owners Kelvin and Susan Hampton as the new Race Director at Mountain View Raceway. Collins began the 2021 season as the Chief Flagman at the ¼-mile high-banked clay oval, and will now move from the Flag Stand to the Control Tower.
Collins has worked in various positions at several tracks in Tennessee and West Virginia. He has also worked with the American Crate All Star Late Model Series. Wayne Brock will return to the Flag Stand at Mountain View Raceway as the Chief Flagman, a position he held during the 2020 season at the track.
“First off, I want to thank Kelvin and Susan Hampton for this opportunity,” Collins said. “They are great people, and this is a great race track. I have been around racing my whole life, and have worked at a lot of tracks. I’ve been inspired and learned from some of the best in the business such as Joseph Rush with the American Crate All Star Series. I have been working hard to learn and to get to this position. Now it’s time to shine and make the best of it.”
The first race with Collins at the helm of Race Control at Mountain View Raceway will be this Saturday night when the Front-Wheel-Drive Division will be featured in a $500-To-Win 25-lap main event. The Mountain View Raceway Late Model, Sportsman, Beginner Sportsman, Open Wheel Modified, B-Hobby/Thunder, and Dwarf Divisions will also be in action.
